You know you’ve found a diamond in the rough when an item comes along that is both stylish and handmade in a fair environment.  Deep Dark Africa is a handmade design business doing exactly that. Started by fashion designer Alexia Kondylis, they feature handmade piecess made by local artisans and designers in South Africa specifically.  This may not sound like a huge, world saving deal but the reality of sweat shops and unfairly, mass produced goods are tragic and everywhere these days.  So to come across a business that encourages local artisans to incorporate their cultural identities into their work and offer them great wages for their product is huge!  For me, there’s nothing not to love about these handmade goods from the coast of South Africa!

One of my favorite pieces this season are wideleg or super flare pants. They are just so cute and chic paired with wedges, a fun top, and skinny belt! I am totally obsessing over the super 70’s, hippie look!
