One of my favorite trends is mixing prints. It’s a fun way to add color or texture to an outfit, and a perfect trend to incorporate in to your littles’ ensemble. Mixing prints does, however, take some thought and intentionality as it can sometimes go array. When mixing prints there are a few key tips to follow: keep the overall palette of prints similar and think geometric. Stripes are the neutral of prints and can be easily paired with another print. Scale is also key. Pair a larger scale print with a smaller, more subdued print to avoid an overwhelming overall look. Mixing prints is such a fun way to dress your little and bring in color and shapes without them looking too babyish.

First designed by Air Force One for use in flight in the 1950’s, the always classic bomber jacket is back in in a major way for fall! Their functional yet fashionable design has really stuck, showing huge popularity in many different seasons of fashion. This year, one of the fun plays on the classic jacket is the oversized bomber, it’s extra long and gives a menswear feel (really wanting this one from Zara). Bomber Jackets are showing up everywhere and in tons of Fall 2014 lookbooks styled in fresh and unexpected ways. The bomber jacket is a definite must for the season!

We all remember the culotte from the 6th grade but not this culotte. Culottes were present and accounted for at New York Fashion Week. It’s all about the wide leg this season and the culotte nails it. Whether in the office or out to brunch on the weekend, the culotte is a breath of fresh air to your staple pant suit or jeans. It’s all about proportion with the culotte. Keep the top more fitted or tucked in so you keep a defined waistline with this look. The culotte looks great with flat oxfords for day or dressed up with heels. You really can’t go wrong with this trend and we will definitely be rocking it this fall.

The fall trend of the long vest is the perfect transition piece from summer to fall. When it’s still too hot for a jacket but cool enough for layering, this piece is a great add on and adds a sophisticated touch to any outfit. Be sure it fits well and slim to the body to avoid looking like a potato sack. Cut is everything with this trend. The long vest is also a great way to add texture to outfit. Look for options in tweed or wool.
