Baby showers for the second time around are not common, but moms having their second or third or fourth child still deserve to be pampered and showered with gifts and blessings. We just threw Dana a small intimate dinner with close friends to celebrate the coming arrival of baby #2. A night out with girlfriends is a great way to celebrate the mom to be. Here are a few other ways to ease the load and pamper the mom to be.

1. Hospital Comfies: Hatch has a great hospital in a box gift set with all the necessities for hospital attire. A fresh robe and comfies for the hospital will make your mom to be feel special and comfortable as she packs those bags. And it’s one less thing she has to think about.
2 & 4. Creams and Ointments: Stretch marks, tension, tired skin from chasing a toddler and carrying baby #2… give your mom to be relaxing and soothing beauty products to make her feel luxurious while she waits… don’t forget postpartum creams as well. Scents like lavender are super relaxing and gives the feel of a spa day right in her own home.
3. Netflix Subscription: Late night feedings and nap times are well accompanied by a favorite TV series to pass the time. A Netflix subscription is a great gift for both mommy to be and the entire family. And occupying a toddler with a cartoon series in desperate times is a great gift to give a new mom.

Well this will be officially my first Mother’s Day as a mom! It really is an honor, and I have such a newfound respect for mothers, motherhood, and all that goes into raising little ones. I’ve learned so much and grown as a person in so many ways just over the past couple of months, and I know that will continue as Jet grows and evolves into his own little person. Thinking about Mother’s Day gifts, it’s hard not to gravitate towards the practical, as most of life right now is stripped down to the bare minimum. But, seeing this as an opportunity to be pampered and appreciated, I’m sharing my “wish list” of things I’ve had my eye on recently. Being a new mom, it’s fun to have a little something special to give you that extra “umph” you might need to survive the midnight feedings and constant flow of spit up. A little something that says, “hey we appreciate you and know you are sacrificing not only your time and energy, but entire self right now and we are grateful.” I know just after a few months of mommy world, I need to hear that and I’m sure many moms out there do too. So this Mother’s Day be celebrated, be pampered, and be loved!

Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays… the weather is usually finally warming up with flowers in bloom and brunch on the table. It feels more stress free and a great time to celebrate with family again after the winter holidays… and not to mention the sweet treats… I mean Cadbury Eggs anyone? I bought Jet his first Easter basket this week, and started brainstorming fun fillers to add. With jellybeans being out of the question this early on, I’ve been looking for some fun smaller toys or books to add. Here are just a few of my favorite Easter basket fillers for your little one.

Wooden Toy Camera / Coral Crown / Rubber Ducky / The Day The Crayons Quit / Beach Bunny / Stack & Scare Blocks /  Memory Game

If you’re at all like me, you love unique finds & the extra attention given to items homemade. This is one of the many reasons I love Etsy so very much. Finding & supporting artisans from all parts of the globe is something Dana & I are very passionate about, & Etsy makes that possible through the convenience of their online marketplace. A part of Etsy that I have just recently explored (due to my impending new one) is their children’s shops.  Read more…
